  • I recently bought the ”Hammer Smashed Face” MCD at a music store near my area. The only reason why I bought this 3 tracks CD is because of your cover from Black Sabbath ”Zero The Hero”. Man this track is so fucking great, very slow and brutal, one of my favorite of the CC catalog actually. I believe that you guys are Sabbath fans for ages now. So my question is, why this specific track from Black Sabbath? And not a cover of , I don’t know’ ”War Pigs” or ”Symptom Of The Universe” for exemples?

  • Ive been a CC fan for years and i have always wondered… in the countries where some of the songs are banned, like germnay, do they send a government official to the shows to listen for the songs? yeah its an odd question but i was wondering if CC plays the songs anyways or how that works?

  • Does Alex Webster use the 4 finger plucking method all the time or just for the insanely fast parts?
  • Have you ever thought of releasing a bass instructional video on how to play corpse’s stuff? you’d be a rich man =)
  • In some of Cannibal Corpse’s songs it sounds like you pop some of the strings (usually on chords) is this because strumming would not have the same effect, popping is easier, or is it just something to do with your settings.
  • What are some of your biggest inspirations?
  • Is there a song (not necessarily a CC song) that moves/touches you?
  • do you feel some sort of pride when you hear another band cover your song? Or do you get really critical and picky about how they plan the song? Also I heard slipknot was going to cover one of your songs, how do you feel about another band (crap noless) bringing your song into semi mainstream?
  • I just wanted to know if there was a method to the madness when you are writing new material. I noticed you guys always accomplish that "Cannibal Corpse" sound and I think it is in the key you use. And if not one specific key, which is your favorite to write in.
  • Alex asked for a song in particular so i had a listen and i think the best example i could find is in the intro to "Born In A Casket" which i believe you play a chord in. i have found though that i can get a similar sound on my bass if i turn the bass knob to the treble end and i play the strings pretty hard (hopefully that makes sense).
  • While i’m at it i would also like to ask how often You, P at, and Jack two-hand-tap because i have seen quite a few pictures of you with your hands in a postion that looks like your tapping, plus i think you have a large tapping part in "The Spine Splitter"
  • I know that alot of the tabs on the net are wrong, but they’re honest attempts at making fans able to play the songs. In "Fucked With a Knife" is it an open note on the E string, or is it a 6? Just curious cause my band doesn’t want to butcher thi s song. We also might be playing "She Was Asking For It", which you guys should start playing live because it’s one of your best and most brutal songs!

  • when cannibal corpse started out,did you just play shows or did you go at the music industry in a professional manner? By professional i mean were you "pre determined" on what you wanted and how to go about getting it. If you did take the professional route,how much money and time did it involve? and were you ever scammed by a subsidiary of a record label or by a shark or what not?
  • i recently purchased both DVDs of yours….monolith of death and Li ve cannibalism. 1st question is, do you expect to release anymore live shit. and i also noticed that alex almost never stops banging his head….ever. Alex is god, i think he is the best bassist ever, even better than Cliff Burton. Does your neck ever hurt after a show? I know that Jason Newstead has had numerous neck surgeries due to furious headbanging. How do you cope with it? Tell us your secret. OH and please,,,COME TO VIRGINIA!!!!
  • Awhile ago I heard about an incident from another Cannibal Corpse fan (who was from Canada, I believe), that there had been a show when you guys played at a club where raw meat was being thrown around. To top that off, he claims that someone had also committed suicide in the bathroom during that same show. Can you confirm this? I know it may be just rumor bullshit, but you can never tell these days!
